Professor Atanas Gotchev at the Leadership Symposium 08.09.2021

The tenth Leadership Symposium organized by Tampere University will be held online on September 8, 2021. The seminars and panels of the Leadership Symposium bring together representatives of various disciplines, the business world and public administration alongside current themes. 

CIVIT Director, Professor Atanas Gotchev, will present CIVIT and the MAGICS project on the Leadership Symposium’s Culture Channel. This section, called “Multidisciplinary collaboration – how experiential media content helps boosting impact and reaching wider audiences“, starts at 13:30 on Wednesday, September 8, 2021.

Join the Leadership Symposium on Wednesday to find out more about CIVIT and other labs at Tampere University that are important elements in creating strong immersive emotions, developing new innovations and platforms for multidisciplinary collaboration and dissemination. Atanas Gotchev is Professor of Signal Processing at Tampere University, and Director of CIVIT. His research interests are in sampling theory, multi-dimensional signal analysis and transform-domain image processing. His recent research work concentrates on 3D and light field imaging and their employment in safety-critical applications.

Prof. Gotchev is among the top international experts in the field of 3D media and immersive visual technologies, with significant contributions to the development of immersive imaging and light field processing. He has led the establishment of CIVIT as the largest research infrastructure in the Nordics dedicated to immersive visual technologies. He has been leading the light field  related doctoral training in Europe, being coordinator of four Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions on plenoptics and immersive imaging across 24 partners and totalling 46 PhD projects in the field.
