CIVIT at Imaging Days 2025: Presentations, Demos, and Collaboration

CIVIT is taking part in Imaging Days 2025, a two-day event organized by Tampere University Imaging Research Platform and Business Tampere to bring together experts in imaging, signal processing, optics and computer vision. This year’s programme includes contributions from CIVIT researchers and partners, highlighting our work in the intersection of computational optics, imaging and immersive visual technologies.

On June 3, CIVIT will be featured in the scientific programme at Varala, Halli 1, with two presentations in the morning session: 

  • Dr. Jani Mäkinen will speak on “Overcoming Challenges in Volumetric Reconstruction for Light Field Microscopy” 
  • Dr. Erdem Sahin will present “Snapshot Hyperspectral Imaging: From Traditional Designs to Deep Learning–Based Methods” 

We’re also pleased to announce that our long-time collaborator Prof. Rajesh Menon (University of Utah) will join the afternoon session with his talk on “High-Dimensional Computational Imaging for Maximal Information Extraction.” Don’t miss the chance to meet him during the event! 

The event continues on June 4 at the Hervanta campus with lab tours and demos. In Tietotalo TB224, CIVIT will present a solution for automated camera color processing pipeline tuning using spectral responses in collaboration with AITO Color, as well as the CIVIT–DXOMARK Joint Lab for other image quality measurements. These sessions will showcase the capabilities of our imaging infrastructure and our ongoing industry partnerships.
