In collaboration with CREAL, CIVIT has built a near-eye light field evaluation setup. CREAL is a Swiss company that makes Hi-Fi light-field projectors for smart eyewear.

The setup integrates CREAL’s near-eye light field display with an autorefractor (Grand Seiko WAM5500). This unique setup will enable thorough characterization and analysis of (perceptual) light fields based on various perceptual measurements such as perceptual spatial resolutions, focus cues, etc., in both central and peripheral visual fields. The results that will be derived from the related research are expected to play a crucial role in developing the next-generation near-eye light field displays.
